Higher Secondary – International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (Grades 11-12)

IBDP – Two year course encourage students to ask challenging questions, learn how to learn, develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture, develop the ability to communicate with and understand people from other countries and cultures.

The IBDP includes six subjects:
First Language, Second Language, Individuals and Society, Maths and Computer Science, Experimental Sciences, Visual Arts, French Abinitio and Math SL. Students will choose to study three of these at Standard Level and three at Higher Level.

In addition students also complete an extended essay of 4000 words, they follow a Theory of Knowledge course where they explore the nature of knowledge across discipline and gain an appreciation for other cultural perspectives and they participate in CAS – Creativity / Activity / Service, which encourages students to be involved in artistic pursuits, sports and community service work.

Students are assessed at the end of two years.

Leading Universities around the world welcome IB graduates because of the way the Diploma Programme prepares you for university styles of teaching and learning. 2011 – 1st batch of IB Diploma graduates

Two students secured admissions in London Universities, one amongst whom, was the only one amongst thousands of students to be awarded a scholarship worth 15.5 lacs, thus launching DPGA in the global academic scenario.

Higher Secondary Years – Grades 11 and 12

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year curriculum for students in their last 2 years of school education. It leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities.

Your child will learn more than a collection of facts. The Diploma Programme prepares students for university and encourages them to:

  1. Ask challenging questions
  2. Learn how to learn
  3. Develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture
  4. Develop the ability to communicate with and understand people from other countries and cultures.

Students study six subjects selected from the subject groups. Normally three subjects are studied at a higher level and the remaining three subjects are studied at a standard level.

In addition to the 6 subjects studied, there are three compulsory requirements:

  1. Extended essay
  2. Theory of knowledge
  3. Creativity, Activity, Service

The grading system is criterion based (results are determined by performance against set standards, not by each student’s position in the overall rank order); validity, reliability and fairness are the watchwords of the Diploma Programme’s assessment strategy.

The IB works closely with universities in all regions of the world to gain recognition for the IB diploma.
